Health and Safety in Cyprus
Health
- Drinking water: It is recommended to drink bottled water as tap water quality may be lower than in Central Europe.
- Vaccinations: No special vaccinations are required, but it is a good idea to have up-to-date vaccinations against hepatitis A and B (yellow fever).
- Water Safety: Swimming in the waters around Cyprus is generally safe, but it is a good idea to avoid areas with rip current warnings.
Security
- Crime: Cyprus is a very safe country with a low crime rate. However, caution should be exercised in urban areas and avoid dark and unfamiliar places at night.
- Transportation: Roads in Cyprus are in good condition, but it is worth taking care when driving, especially on rural and mountain roads.
- Women's Safety: Women traveling alone should be aware of their personal safety and avoid dark places at night.
